Black Friday have you worn out?

Shopping, even online, can make you tired, a bit crabby.  A caffeinated banana smoothie is packed with vitamins, fiber, protein, and muscle-nurturing potassium and will revitalize those fingers.  Adding coffee to the recipe provides a jolt of energy.  Plus, we’ve crowed about the health benefits of (Haitian) coffee for years.  Another new study confirms what’s already been revealed in your 3 daily cups.  Drinking coffee is pretty healthy:

  • live longer
  • less depression
  • one of the best antioxidants around
  • fosters healthier liver
  • lowers type 2 diabetes (plus a slew of other ailments)

Here’s a recipe for the best banana smoothing ever. Blend the following ingredients

  • 2 large bananas (frozen?)  cut into pieces
  • 2 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (chocolate?)
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 4 ounces of very strong coffee
  • toss in a couple tables spoons of roasted cacao nibs from Haiti — blend them well first; they’ll add the perfect touch of chocolate
